Spring has Sprung

 

Our first two fish, both springers, were caught on the 25th March this year by Kev the Hat and Bob Miller – only one day later than last year’s first fish (24th March 2021). Caught in an exciting spot – a rather mysterious pool – with a mixture of turbulent water and deep calm zones swallowing up the fly.

Following this exciting start we have been faced with a bout of rain, sleet and snow during the final days of March, however the conditions appear to be good for fish as our 3rd springer was hooked 1st April at 14:35. He was landed and safely returned. This 3rd fish had a few seal marks on its back. It was clearly a tough journey for that mighty salmon.
